I got the Ambulance bill yesterday.
$864.43!!! That is insane!
If I didn't have coverage I would be so screwed. The basic charge is $417.50 but since I was on the highway and they passed 3 hospitals we traveled 98km at $3.54/km. We didn't go to the closest hospital since they didn't have the baby monitor machines and The Mis and the UofA hospitals were not taking ambulances at that time. The Royal Alex was the first hospital willing to take me. They also charged me a non-resident fee. What's with that? I have to pay extra since I didn't get hurt in Whitecourt? Thats stupid!!!!
